LEG VEINS

Leg veins appear as Vericose veins, Reticular veins and Spider veins. When describing leg veins, it is easiest to imagine each category as the root, the trunk and the branches of a tree.

Leg Veins

The root being a Vericose vein, need to be treated either by sclerotherapy ( saline injections) or surgical vein stripping.  These treatments are performed by a physician.  Reticular veins can be described as the trunk and are more superficial “feeder” veins.  These veins feed the Spider veins or “branches”.  Both Reticular and Spider veins are effectively and safely treated with the Fotona ND YAG 1064 laser application.  Laser treatment of these vascular lesions is more favorable than injections as there are minimal side effects and the treatment is generally quick and well tolerated.  Laser treatment poses no risk of hyperpigmentation if the area is exposed to the sun post treatment and compression socks are not required directly after treatment, which can be a side effect of Sclerotherapy.

Angiomas and Hemangiomas are collections of tiny blood vessels in a localized area. This condition is most common in women during pre and peri menopause, however can effect men as well.  Hemangiomas and Angiomas lesions look like more of a predicament then they actually are.  They are very safely and effectively treated with the Fotona ND YAG 1064 laser.
